Work across machines

Keep one view of your work while being explicit about where code, agents and sign-ins live.

MachineWhere the work livesHow you connect
Your MacLocal project folders and the Mac app’s account profilesUse the Mac app and its local provider setup.
Your Linux serverProjects and provider profiles on that serverInstall Linux Host from Add a machine and approve its pairing.
Miko CloudYour separate Cloud machineOpen the web app and choose the machine available to your Miko account.

Choose the machine before adding a provider account or starting work. A folder path on one machine is not automatically a folder on another. The web app groups connected machines in one interface; the agents still run on their chosen machine.

Miko sign-in is separate from provider sign-in

Section titled “Miko sign-in is separate from provider sign-in”

Your Miko account lets an approved device reach the machines paired to that account. It does not, by itself, sign your coding agents in on every machine.

Provider accounts have an installation on a particular machine. Miko can group matching accounts across machines for display, while retaining their separate machine IDs, account IDs and sign-in status. A grouped row is not proof that credentials were copied.

  1. Sign in to Miko

Use your Miko sign-in on the new device. Keep provider login and Miko login distinct.

  2. Approve the device

Follow the confirmation flow and compare the code on both screens using a device you already trust.

  3. Open the right machine

Check the machine name and project before starting an agent or entering a provider key.

A public or shared device has a limited session. The documented public-device period is 12 hours. Remove a device you no longer trust in Settings; do not send a recovery key to another person to give them access.

Cloud and Linux Host agents keep running when you close the web app. Mac terminals belong to Miko’s background runtime, so closing the Mac window also leaves them running. Use the stop controls when you intend to stop work.

Uninstalling one machine does not remove the files on your other machines. Back up and remove data on the machine that owns it, and remove the disconnected machine from your Miko account separately.
